Amber’s approach to counseling involves assessing which method will be most beneficial to meet each client’s goals for healing and positive change. She frequently draws from cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, psychodynamic, and Gottman methods (in work with couples).
Amber is also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) which is a well-researched approach to treating anxiety, depression, various levels of trauma including childhood abuse, complicated grief reactions, among other ailments such as experiencing “being stuck” (i.e. unable to express creativity or find joy in daily life).
